How SimpleSay handles your learning data
Effective date: 27 October 2026
SimpleSay helps you practise languages using lesson cards, audio, voice exercises and an AI tutor. This notice covers the mobile app and the online services used by its AI features. A website hosting this policy may have separate browser and server-log practices.
Who is responsible
App operator / data controller - Koldashev Dmitry
Privacy contact - https://simplesay.koldashev.gr/support.html
Data stored on your device
Profile and preferences - Your name, optional email, profile photo, chosen language, study schedule and notification preferences. The current app does not use the profile email for sign-in or recovery.
Learning data - Saved lesson topics, dialogues, translations, pronunciation hints, generated audio, search vectors and lesson practice history and feature-usage counters. Interface translations are cached locally.
Conversation history - Final tutor-call transcripts, typed messages, lesson identifiers and timestamps are saved in the app's local files. The mobile client does not save raw call audio or video recordings.
Optional voice samples - A configured voice-cloning feature may store a voice sample and its transcript on your device.
Security
Connections to the default AI services use HTTPS or secure WebSockets. Saved app data relies on device security and is not separately encrypted by SimpleSay. Avoid putting passwords or sensitive personal information in lessons or conversations. No network or storage system is entirely secure.
Online features and recipients
AI lessons, translations and feedback - Lesson topics, dialogue content, selected languages and voice-answer transcripts are sent as needed to the SimpleSay AI server at dexterius.koldashev.gr. If that service is unavailable, text generation and speech synthesis may use an alternative online AI service.
Meaning-based search - Your search text and lesson content are sent to the SimpleSay AI server and, when needed, an alternative online service to generate search vectors. The resulting vectors are used to find related cards in your local library.
Tutor calls - Microphone audio, typed messages, the selected lesson and its prepared plan are transmitted to the tutor service. If you enable your camera, its video is published to the call room. LiveKit provides the call transport; the server configuration determines which speech-recognition and AI providers process the session.
Device speech recognition - Voice exercises use your device's speech-recognition service. Depending on the operating system, language and settings, audio may be processed by Apple, Google or another installed speech provider rather than entirely on-device.
Optional voice cloning and avatar assets - If enabled, the selected voice sample and its transcript are uploaded to the speech service to create lesson audio. The avatar may load rendering code from jsDelivr; that request exposes network metadata such as your IP address to the CDN.
Network services receive connection information such as an IP address, request time, room identifier and protocol details. The app includes no advertising features. Subscription and analytics SDK processing is described in section 9. The app does not upload your profile name, email or photo as a separate account record; personal information you include in a lesson or conversation can still be transmitted with that content.
Purposes and permissions
Data is used to provide requested lessons, translations, generated speech, search, feedback and calls; remember local preferences; and deliver optional study reminders. Necessary online feature processing supports the service you request. Security and fault diagnosis support the operator's legitimate interest in maintaining a reliable service, subject to applicable privacy rights. Permission prompts control device access; they are not a blanket waiver of privacy rights.
Microphone, camera and notifications are optional. You may deny or revoke access in device settings, mute your microphone, disable camera video or end a call. Saved cards and their audio remain available offline. AI features are unavailable without their necessary online processing.
Retention and deletion
Local profile, lessons, audio, translations and call transcripts remain until you delete the relevant data or remove the app's storage. Deleting a lesson removes its generated audio but does not automatically remove saved call history. This version has no in-app control for deleting individual call histories. Device backups may retain copies under your operating system's rules. Secure-storage data may survive uninstall on some platforms.
Server audio/video recording - The server does not record calls or retain audio files or video recordings. Microphone audio is processed for the active tutoring session. Optional camera video is transmitted through the call room and is not recorded by the service.
Server AI content retention - The SimpleSay AI server processes request content only to provide the requested response. It does not retain chat histories or audio files after processing, reuse them for other purposes or use them to train models. Separately supplied user-recovery archives are distinct from AI conversation history; the current mobile app does not upload such archives.
Removing local app data does not automatically delete data already processed by an online provider. Contact the operator to ask about server-side access or deletion; processing already carried out cannot be undone by revoking a device permission.
External providers
Online AI, speech and call providers process the content needed for the requested feature. Their data handling depends on the service, account settings and region. Providers may process data outside your country.
Your rights and updates
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data and object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact the operator using the privacy contact on page 1; describe your request without including sensitive credentials.
The current AI features are intended for adult learners. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, contact the operator. This notice will be updated when data practices change, with a revised effective date. The current version will be available from the app's About screen and the operator's website.
Purchases, access and usage
Apple App Store and Google Play - The store handles checkout, payment and subscription management under its own terms. SimpleSay does not receive your full payment-card or bank-account details.
RevenueCat - The app uses RevenueCat to retrieve products, validate store purchases, restore purchases and determine Premium access. RevenueCat processes a generated app user ID, store transaction and product identifiers, purchase and renewal dates, subscription status and technical app, device and connection information. This ID does not require registration and is not your profile name or email.
Local feature usage - Daily card-generation and tutor-call counters are stored in the app database to apply Free and Premium limits. The counters are not included in lesson import/export archives. Purchasing does not delete your library, and expiration does not remove saved cards or their audio.
Google Analytics for Firebase
The current app enables Google Analytics for Firebase to measure app usage and reliability. Events describe screen visits and actions such as creating a card, practising or starting a tutor call. Parameters may include selected languages, counts and action results. Firebase also processes an app-instance identifier and automatically collected device, operating-system, app-version, session, purchase and approximate region information. SDK identifier collection depends on platform permissions and configuration.
The app's custom analytics events do not include lesson topics or dialogue text, tutor messages, microphone recordings, profile names, email addresses, photographs or credentials. There is no in-app analytics switch in this version. Contact the operator about analytics-related privacy requests. The service's retention and deletion settings and the provider's terms apply to data processed outside the device.
Retention and requests for SDK data
Deleting local app data does not cancel a store subscription or automatically erase RevenueCat, store or Firebase records. Manage renewal in the store's subscription settings. Contact the operator for access or deletion requests, and include the RevenueCat App User ID from the support diagnostics screen when relevant. Transaction records may need to be retained for accounting, fraud prevention or legal obligations. External providers may process data outside your country.
If you contact support by email, your address and message are processed by the operator and email provider to reply and may remain in email correspondence. Do not include passwords, payment details or private information about children. Support correspondence is separate from your app profile and lesson data.
